Wallington United Reformed Church places considerable emphasis on the importance of healing and wholeness, by which we mean any activity which maintains or improves the mental, physical, emotional or spiritual well-being of the individual.
We regard our Healing Ministry as a core part of our Vision, building on the varied activities which are already under way.
For example:
- As an integral part of our communion service each month, the members of the congregation have the opportunity to receive the Laying on of Hands.
- During the week there are two Healing Clinics where anyone who wishes can receive Spiritual Healing. At one of these sessions we also offer a listening service staffed by trained members of the Church. At some clinics we also offer the opportunity to receive complementary therapies such as reflexology and shiatsu.
- Weekly sessions of Creative Therapy were launched as a follow on from our Healing Days (below) and have proved a great success. Church members and friends share their many talents and inspire others to discover hidden talents as well as sociable relaxation.
- At intervals we organise a Help Yourself to Health Day, to which everyone is welcome. As well as the aspects of healing already listed, participants can experience other forms of complementary medicine, attend workshops, try creative therapies or just enjoy refreshment with others in a congenial atmosphere.
The majority of these activities are listed in our
